Lego has been an industry leader in the toy department for almost a century. So much has been immortalized in Lego since then with almost endless options when it comes to choosing what you're going to build next. Let's be honest though, while a penchant for Lego is fun, it can also get pretty expensive. That's why Lego giving its customers something for free should not be sniffed at, and right now Lego is giving people an entire set free of charge provided you spend over a certain amount through its official store.

If you spend $150 or more on anything in a single purchase via Lego's online store from now until April 14, you'll get the Flower Trellis Display set for no additional charge. The set is usually $24.95 when bought separately, and while not even close to the most expensive Lego sets available right now, it's still a pretty great deal to get the set for free with stuff you'd presumably be buying anyway.

No, it's not one of the exciting Star Wars sets Lego has released to mark 25 years of sets from a galaxy far, far away, nor is it the elaborate Avengers Tower set released last year. However, other than giving Lego fans something for free, it's also a chance to get people building and playing with sets they might not otherwise give a second look. There are a lot of Lego flower sets available, and perhaps this free one will be the first of many for your collection.

Lego has a lot of flower sets, but rather than make it seem like your Lego flowers are growing from a pot, this one has them creeping up a trellis. Made up of 440 pieces and recommended for Lego fans aged 12 and up.

The set is 440 pieces which is pretty big for a set that costs just $25, let alone one you're getting for free. The best thing of all about this set and all of Lego's other flower sets is it can make your home look pretty but once it's built, it requires zero upkeep. No returning to it in a month to find it dried up and dead because you forgot to water it. Barring someone breaking it accidentally, the Flower Trellis Display is forever. Even if it does get broken, you can just rebuild it.

If you do have $150 or more to spend on Lego between now and April 14, there's no shortage of options when it comes to new sets to choose from. Lego launched its first Dungeons & Dragons set this week. Starting life as a set submitted by a D&D fan, the Red Dragon's Tale set includes a Lego dragon that can be wrapped around a tower. There are also Lego's first Animal Crossing sets if you've been waiting for them, and a Batman set that recreates the Gotham skyline from The Animated Series.
